Tomato Sauce

I had terrible trouble sourcing a sugar free tomato sauce, so I ended up making my own. Easy peasy and much cheaper! Keeps for ages in a jar in the fridge.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml carton tomato passata
  • 1 tbs light olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic puree
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp tabasco
  • 50 ml white wine vinegar
  • 30 ml rice syrup
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 2 tsp onion granules
  • 1 tbs tomato puree
  • salt and pepper

Instructions
 

  • Put everything in a pan. Stir well.
  • Bring to the boil. Then simmer for 30 minutes until slightly reduced and thicker. It will thicken more as it cools.
  • Store in a jar in the fridge for up to a month.
