You might believe that going to an ‘expert’ for help with a problem is asking them to help you change some kind of flaw.
Whether it be a change in behaviour, in thinking, or in action, change is the key to success, or so you might have been told.
This would imply that something about you needs to be changed because you are the problem.
There must be something wrong with you or you wouldn’t be looking for a solution.
You can’t be successful without fixing what is wrong with you can you?
Is that always the case?
Is it ever the case?
And just because something has worked for the ‘expert’ does that mean they are doing it right and you are doing it wrong?
I asked myself am I treating my clients like that?
To better understand my business client journey, I decided to dive into this concept.
I asked myself if I was saying to a client that because I have had success with my food-for-health path, that they should follow it to the letter too?
Was I saying that they are currently eating in the ‘wrong’ way and that the Wide Eyed way is the ‘right’ way?
What I realised.
Here’s the thing, I’ve realised that I don’t have to (and I don’t think I do) frame it as a negative message. I don’t have to imply that the client themselves needs to change in order to have success.
I totally believe that the only reason people eat foods that do them harm is because they have been misinformed to eat that way from birth and are unaware that they’re even doing it.
A much nicer message.
If we look at this in a positive way in that all that needs to be corrected is the misinformation, it then then absolves them from all blame or fault.
A much nicer message to pass along.
Let’s be clear.
The Wide Eyed way of eating isn’t my way of eating.
Wide Eyed is the business stamp I came up with following my conclusions drawn from 12 years of experience in the nutrition arena.
It’s just my understanding of the human way of eating that can be used by anyone who has a health issue. Health issues that have resulted from accidentally eating foods that humans weren’t meant to eat.
The best thing about the Wide Eyed way of eating.
After many years of honing my offerings, it has become clear that every single one of my clients uses the info I provide in their own unique way.
Food is such an individual choice. Also, appetites alter daily, plus nutritional, economical, emotional, and social variables influence each meal decision.
All my clients will continue to use the knowledge they’ve gained to navigate their way through the rest of their lives.
There is nothing wrong with your body in the first place.
Overwriting the 21st century food muddle is all it takes.
Getting out of the way of your body’s critical functions highlights that your body already worked perfectly well, it just needed an understanding of the tools to allow it to get on with the job.
You can’t unravel the ball of confusion until you can see what it is supposed to look like.
That is all I provide so that you are the expert of your body.
