My no-cook BBQ sauce

BBQ sauce

Usually full of sugar, but oh-so-nice, this takes minutes to knock up with a bit of a kick! Note it has 2 tablespoons of red wine which adds to its feel good factor.

  • 2 tbs red wine any type of wine will do
  • 2 tbs tamari wheat free soy sauce
  • 3 tbs tomato puree
  • 1 tsp garlic puree
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper ground
  • 1/4 tsp tabasco
  • 1 tbs rice syrup
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp light olive oil


  • Put all the ingredients into a small bowl or ramekin, and stir until smooth.


If you're worried about the small alcohol content, heat for a few minutes until bubbling and alcohol evaporates. This is great brushed on meat prior to barbecuing or grilling. Perfect for a dipping sauce.
